Cincinnati Blog Claims Steve Chabot Leaves Cincinnati Voiceless in D.C.

Randy Simes tracks Chabot's voting record since his re-election to congress in 2010.
Says Simes:
"Since returning to Washington, D.C. in 2010 Congressman Chabot has sponsored 13 bills, nine of which received the support of co-sponsors. The majority of the bills sponsored by Congressman Chabot are rated by GovTrack as having very little chance of passage due to their polarizing nature. The four bills sponsored by Congressman Chabot that have no co-sponsor include his two largest legislative proposals to date – the Stop Wasting American Tax Dollars Act and the Section 8 Reform, Responsibility, and Accountability Act of 2012."

WVXU Political Analyst Claims Gerrymandering Makes Steve Chabot 'Unbeatable'

In an article titled House races could get interesting again, Howard Wilkinson discusses recent Republican gerrymandering of House districts.
"An analysis of the 435 House districts show that only about 12 percent of them are truly competitive races."
"They took the whole of Warren County – where John McCain beat Barack Obama four years ago by more than two-to-one – and gave it to Chabot, making him, practically speaking, unbeatable, at least until the next time the lines are re-drawn."

From Fox WXIX:
The Mayor of Cincinnati stated, "This is nothing but a political stunt." "People are tired of the same old ‘we can't' attitude. That is not how we operate in Cincinnati anymore. We work on big projects and we get them done." "Representative Chabot says that we should be investing in the Brent Spence Bridge and a new interchange on I-71 at MLK. I couldn't agree more. Steve Chabot (R) Westwood Continues Campaign Against Cincinnati

Steve Chabot entered an amendment to a US Transportation bill blocking funding specifically for Cincinnati light rail. In not pursuing light rail in general he shows his petty political vindictiveness and in citing that monies need to be spent on long term job growth he shows his ignorance or is just plain lying. The transportation bill as it stands will likely only promote short term boondoggle road building whereas Cincinnati's streetcar is aimed at long term job growth and curbing blight. Chabot seeks endless sprawl. Steve CHabot DOES support the $2M/foot Ohio River bridge. Chabot'ss Blog

How Much Hatred Can Steve Chabot Have for his Hometown ?

Steve Chabot R Westwood? The Cincinnatian who claims residence in a neighborhood to avoid connections to his city of birth, cozies up with State Senator Shannon Jones who wrote law, (or copied & pasted law) that singled out Cincinnati from any other city in the state to block federal dollars targeted for the city. Chabot has tried acting against the City of Cincinnati on the federal level as well. While redistricting has effectively coronated Chabot for life, if he ever moves out of Washington, maybe he should move to Warren County. Middletown Journal here

Jeff Sinnard(D) narrowly defeated Malcom Kantzler(D) for bullet proof Republican congressional district 1 in Ohio. Jim Berns(L) handily defeated Sandra Queen Noble(L). Steve Chabot(R), however, running unopposed, received only a fraction of the Republican votes cast in the district - indicating a serious lack of enthusiasm for the career politician who, without a Republican challenger, will be congressman for life.

Reddit Vows to Blackout o Protest Steve Chabot's SOPA Legislation

Reddit, a social news website where the registered users submit content, has announced they will black themselves out in a protes and to make an example of what people should expect if the onerous legislation, SOPA, sponsored by Steve Chabot at the behest of giant media corporations passes.
"The freedom, innovation, and economic opportunity that the Internet enables is in jeopardy. Congress is considering legislation that will dramatically change your Internet experience and put an end to reddit and many other sites you use everyday."

Will others follow?
Time Techland asks that very question. I wonder if one massive blackout by Reddit, Google, FaceBook, Twitter, Wikipedia & others all at once would make the point better than individual blackouts by all the companies at different times.
Steve Chabot and his Big Business buddies tell us not to worry but that's just more corporatist bullshit. Steve Chabot has shown over and over that he is opposed to freedom of expression.
