Ever the big central government type, Steve Chabot (Brad Wenstrup) voted against a bill that would defund the DEA from persecuting marijuana dealers & users in states that had legalized marijuana.
Guess the boy just can't be happy unless he can grind out anybody he disagrees with - like a roach.

Chabot Wins Primary
Uncontested, Steve Chabot won his Republican primary with 6.27% of the registered voters & 15% of those ballots not selecting him.
Kundrata received an even smaller percentage of votes in the Democratic primary but beat Prues 6-4.
Chabot received about 17,000 votes while Kundrata & Prues combined brought in only 10,000 votes, about 4% of the registered voters. Kundrata alone received less than 6,000.
What can we take from this? Nobody gives a shit. Apathy appears to be Chabots best weapon.

Fred Kundrata explains his party switch
In 2012, Fred Kundrata ran for the Republican nomination for the Ohio 2nd district seat and lost to Brad Wenstrup, a guy with similar background but who appealed more to the extreme right wing of the GOP.
The whole WVXU story, which also features Dem contender Jim Prues, here.
Kundrata said that it was during that race that he decided he was, in fact, a Democrat.
"I always knew I was a moderate,'' Kundrata said. "I thought the Republican Party was far more moderate."
But, he said, he learned differently when he saw the influence of the tea party movement on the GOP and couldn't go along with that.
"I’m a Democrat now,'' Kundrata said. "I fully support the unions. I want to strengthen unions. I'm a union pilot."

Steve Chabot Swings - Misses
Steve Chabot recently misread his tea leaves as he gushed over a John Kasich presidency. He discussed Kasich's ability to defeat Hillary Clinton who probably won't even run for the office. Meanwhile, Kasich has stated he isn't interested in the office.
So, if Chabot can't read a fellow Republican from his home state, how good a job can this guy do reading the political landscape a half a world away?

Chabot Lumps Poor With Criminals
In a letter to the Cincinnati Enquirer, Steve Chabot offers his support for a city councliman's idea to lump poor single mothers work with convicted criminals at hard labor in the streets.
Neither of the Republicans consider cost and safety in their schemes.

Funding an Ohio River Bridge
Steve Chabot's government shutdown lost $24B and stunted our anemic economic growth about 25%. We could have built 8 bridges over the Ohio River for that. Steve Chabot would rather watch his district and his country go the way of his fish tank.

Steve Chabot's Long Shadow
$24B wasted & more uncertainty in the near future. Thanks, Steve, that's the way to a bright, prosperous economy.
